“I’m not sure what I think about God”

“I am not sure what I think about God. I never really thought much about him but this pandemic has allowed me to say, ‘God, if you’re real, show me what I should do’”,

Trinity explained during one of our weekly Cru meetings. Trinity started coming to Cru in Plano, TX when a friend from school invited her to our fall pumpkin carving outreach. Trinity comes from a faith background where her parents have taken her to church occasionally but until the start of the pandemic, she did not have a relationship with God.

During one of our weekly Cru meetings our staff discussed the story of the prodigal son with the group. When talking about how the Father in the story had compassion on his rebellious son, ran after him, embraced him, kissed him, and threw him a huge party, Trinity looked confused. “I don’t think this is how God normally acts. I am pretty sure when we mess up we have to pay the price for our own mistakes before we can come back to God.” We were delighted to explain to Trinity this concept of God’s never-ending love and forgiveness for his children.

Since that time, our staff, Amy, has been able to meet with Trinity and a friend to share the gospel and go through next step follow-up materials that explain more of who God is and how to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Trinity is excited to keep meeting weekly and has so many questions about God and the power he has to forgive us. It’s no coincidence that the Lord led trinity to Cru as he continues to pursue her heart and show her who he is. Please keep praying with us that God would continue to grow her in her faith and that he would lead us to more students like Trinity who are hungry to know God.

Thank you so much for partnering with us as we see many “Trinity’s” across the country come to know what our Heavenly Father is really like. I love how our staff and volunteers are pushing through the restrictions and difficulties of C.O.V.I.D. to meet with students and take the love of Jesus to them. Please pray for Amy and many like her who just want more teenagers to know Jesus!

Thank you!
